Welcome to Jo’s Scribbles!
Jo’s Scribbles is a lifestyle blog covering topics I’m inspired by. Topics I feel passionate and strongly about: women’s issues, feminism, body image, self-worth and self-esteem. And on all the things inbetween that give me that itch to put fingers to keys.
There’s a wonderful quote by Alexandra Franzen that I try to live by:
This is where I hope to do my great work – or something like it.

The Writer Behind the Blog:
Hi, I’m Jo.
As a young girl, I had a hard time loving the person I saw in the mirror. With magazines and TV constantly telling me that women should be super slim but also curvy, I bought into the idea that I wasn’t good enough.
Now an adult, I have come to love and accept the body I’m in and the woman I am, and also to question the crap women are being force fed on a daily basis. The crap telling us who we should be and how we should look; the crap that makes us feel we have to bend over backwards to fit society’s ideal. I’m still a work in progress, but I’ve grown enough to know I need to join my voice to those of countless other women in the fight to say this isn’t how we have to live.
I have a BA Hons degree in Journalism Studies. As a book blogger, I have been a London Book Fair panellist and have had quotes from my book reviews published in 19 books and a proof. I have had work published in Geeked Magazine, and I’ve contributed to The Coven, Zusterschap and The Olive Fox, as well as being part of the Safe Space team.
